Set up the door team's phones

Send your door team one link: each opens it once on their phone and it's a scanner — no app, no account, no password. On event day they tap the icon.

  1. Go to Venues and click Settings & devices on the venue — or, on the night, use Add door phones on the event's card in Ops.
  2. Click Add door phones.
  3. Choose how long the link works (15 minutes, Today, 3 days or 7 days) and how many Phones it can set up. Give it a name if you like (Front door — Saturday). If the venue has zones, pick the Door.
  4. Click Create door link.

You get a QR and the link. Send it ahead — WhatsApp, Text, Email or Copy — or show the QR to whoever is next to you.

What the door staff do

  1. Open the link on their phone (or point the camera at the QR). The scanner opens already set up — This phone is set up for the door.
  2. Follow Put it on your home screen so on event day it's one tap.
  3. Tap Start scanning.

That's all: no VenueWS account, no password. The phone stays set up after the link expires, until someone unpairs it or you revoke it. Opening the link again on the same phone doesn't take a second device.

One phone, right now

Generate pairing code makes a code for one phone, valid 15 minutes: scan its QR with the phone or type the code at /scan.

Scan with your own account

Signed in to VenueWS on the phone, open /scan: you'll see Signed in as your name. Pick the venue and tap Scan. This works online only — for doors with bad signal, use a door link.

See and revoke phones

Paired devices lists every phone that can scan at the venue: when it was paired, its last scan, and whether it's Ready offline or still has scans to upload. Revoke stops a phone at once (it warns you if the phone still holds scans). Stop this link on an open door link stops it setting up more phones; those it set up keep working.

Device limits

Each phone counts as one of your plan's devices. If a door link reaches the limit, the next phone is told so — revoke one you no longer use, or upgrade.
