Zones and doors
Split a venue into doors or areas — VIP, parking, main entrance — each with its own capacity, devices and guests.
Add a zone
- Go to Venues and click Settings & devices on the venue.
- In the Zones card, type a Zone name.
- Optionally enter a Capacity for that door.
- Click Add.
A venue can have up to 20 zones. Each one in the list shows its capacity and how many devices are paired to it. With no zones, every device at the venue admits at every door.
Tie a scanner to a zone
When you pair a phone, choose the zone in Pair this device to a zone. Leave Any door at this venue for a phone that can work anywhere. See Pair a phone as a door scanner.
Tie a guest to a zone
When you invite a guest with Invite a guest, pick the zone in Door. Leave Any door to let them in anywhere.
How the door decides
- An invitation for one zone, scanned by a phone paired to another zone, shows Wrong door.
- A phone paired to no zone admits any invitation; an invitation with no zone is admitted at any door.
- A zone's capacity counts people who came in through that door for the event; re-entries do not count again. When it is reached, the scanner shows Door at capacity.
- The event's own Capacity still applies on top, and shows At capacity when the whole event is full.
Waivers can also apply to one zone only — for example a release for the backstage area. See Waivers and consent.
Archive a zone
- Click the archive icon (Archive zone) next to it.
- Confirm with Archive.
Devices paired to it keep working but stop being restricted to that door.
